Century Ride
7th Annual Kelly Brush Century Ride
Saturday, September 8, 2012
Middlebury College, Middlebury, VT
Hosted by Middlebury Skiing
What would happen if you suffered a spinal cord injury and could no longer get out and do your favorite sport? By participating in the Kelly Brush Century Ride you will be helping fellow athletes who have suffered a Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) do just that – get their sport back! This ride raises money to provide grants to individuals living with SCI so that they can purchase adaptive sporting equipment such as handcycles and monoskis. It also provides funds for ski clubs to promote ski safety awareness and to purchase safety equipment to make their venues safer. Lastly, a portion of the funds go to SCI research and to the US Adaptive Ski Team. By riding in the Kelly Brush Century Ride you WILL change a life!
A RECAP FROM THE 2011 RIDE:
The 6th Annual Kelly Brush Century Ride was a phenomenal success by all accounts. With the new 100 mile course the Ride attracted an amazing 721 riders and 24 hand cyclists. Fundraising was also up with over $280,000 raised. More importantly than the numbers, perhaps, was the enthusiasm and dedication of the crowd of riders, volunteers, and supporters in Middlebury on September 10th this year. Just take a look at the photos to see what a great event it was.
Among the riders were 24 handcyclists this year that came out to support the Kelly Brush Foundation cause. Many of these riders were themselves KBF grant recipients, supporting the cause which has supported them.
The mood of the Ride and the crowd was excited, joyful, and supportive. The Kelly Brush Foundation thanks all 721 riders, over 100 volunteers, and thousands of donors who made this year’s Century Ride such a huge success. We look forward to an even bigger event in 2012!
With Love and Thanks,
Kelly, Lindsay, Mary, and Charlie
